Ida Corby-DeMaagd and Greg DeMaagd, owners and operators of Seniors Helping Seniors in-home services throughout Monterey County, CA are dedicated to providing quality, compassionate in-home care to the seniors in their community.  Ida has been a caregiver and healthcare professional for over 30 years.  Her experiences have given her an intimate understanding of what seniors in Monterey County need.  “I have witnessed a need for the type of care Seniors Helping Seniors in-home services can provide in our community,” says Ida.  I am so happy to be able to offer compassionate, loving care to Monterey County seniors.”  

Seniors Helping Seniors in-home services matches seniors who want to help with seniors who need a little help.  This peer-to-peer assistance allows seniors in need to receive loving care from someone they can trust and relate to.  At the same time, seniors providing services are able to remain active in their community and form relationships with their fellow seniors.  

The senior Providers who work with Ida and Greg offer many services including light housekeeping, meal preparation, yard work, doctors visits, transportation assistance, light home maintenance, and most importantly, companionship.

Ida was born in Bedford Indiana and attended Foothill College in Los Altos, California.  She has been a caregiver and Respiratory Therapist for over 30 years, specifically on the Monterey Peninsula for over 25 years.  Fifteen years of her career was devoted to in-home pulmonary care services. Ida has been active in her community as a volunteer with Eagles Wing, which provided shelter for troubled and developmentally delayed children.  She also sat on the board of Breathe California of the Central Coast.

Greg was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan and attended York University.  Greg’s background is in sales and marketing, with an emphasis in print, broadcast and online advertising.  He worked at The San Francisco Chronicle for 6 years and Clear Channel Communications.  Greg is also the founder of three companies; Click-Through Inc, MortgageRateWatch.com and Fairchild Pacific Corp.  

Seniors Helping Seniors in-home services has sites throughout the U.S.  The organization was founded by Kiran Yocom, who has a mission and a passion to help seniors live independently. Kiran’s personal interest in seniors grew out of her work with Mother Teresa of Calcutta. She leads the organization through compassion and caring for all.
